The Drag 5 is a 510 mod rather than a pod device, and it runs on two 18650 cells that do not come with it. Buying those correctly is the first job of ownership and the one place where getting it wrong has consequences beyond a poor vape.

Two cells, bought as a pair
The pair has to match in every respect — manufacturer, model, age — and they should be charged and discharged as a set from the day you buy them. Putting an unmatched pair in is the one safety error on this device that is entirely within your control to avoid, because the stronger cell finishes up doing the tired one’s work and neither ages evenly afterwards.
On discharge, this mod at full power asks each of the two cells for something in the region of 31A. Batteries works the sum through and gives a tested rating for every cell rather than repeating what the wrap says: a distinction that matters, since one cell there is printed at 35A and measured at 20A.
Two cells in series ask less of each one than a single cell would at the same output, because the pack voltage doubles and the current per cell halves. It reads backwards, and it is one of the genuine merits of the format.
The tank and the coils
It ships with the UForce-X, a 5.5ml glass sub-ohm tank that takes PnP X coils — the same coil family as four other devices here, which makes spares easier to keep than a proprietary tank would. Coils are on Replacement Coils; the tank itself is on Replacement Pods with the other threaded tanks.
The resistance range runs from 0.05 to 3.0 ohms, a lower floor than any pod mod on this catalogue. Five to 177 watts across Smart, RBA, ECO and temperature control, with Ni200, titanium, SS316 and SS430 supported.
Glass is glass. A spare tank section is worth keeping for a mod in daily use, because the part that breaks is not the part that wears out.
What to fill it with
Three milligrams at 70/30, with six as the ceiling. At the wattages this mod reaches, that is the only sensible answer, and there is no case at all for a nicotine salt in it.
Nasty Juice at 3mg, Ultimate Juice 120ml at 3mg or 6mg, and a mixed Doozy E-Liquids 100ml shortfill are the formats that belong. A 5.5ml tank at high wattage empties quickly, which makes the 120ml bottles the practical size rather than the extravagant one.
Charging and handling
Onboard charging runs over USB Type-C at 5V and 3A, the highest rate of any device in this catalogue. Even so, an external charger is the better habit for removable cells: it charges them independently, which is what a matched pair wants, and it gives you a second pair ready.
Loose cells belong in a case. A pair rattling around a bag alongside keys or coins is how one gets shorted, and that is the failure that makes a cell dangerous rather than merely disappointing.
