A coil is the part that wears out, and it is the part most often bought wrongly. Ten coil families sit on this page, covering eight separate platforms from four manufacturers — and nothing crosses between them. A VOOPOO PnP coil will not seat in a PnP X cartridge; a SMOK RPM coil is physically smaller than an RPM 2; UWELL and VAPORESSO each run platforms that share nothing with the others.
What you are matching is the platform, not the brand on the box. That distinction is the whole of this category, and getting it right is the difference between a coil that works and a coil that goes in the bin.
The eight platforms, and which devices run them
VOOPOO runs three separate coil platforms, and they are the easiest to confuse. Original PnP fits the VOOPOO Drag H40 alone among current devices. PnP X covers a wider spread: the VOOPOO Drag S2 and S3, the Drag X3, the Argus Pro 2, and the Drag 5 by way of its UForce-X tank. TPP is a tank platform of its own and shares nothing with either.
UWELL split at the same point. The Caliburn G2 coil is a separate part that presses into an empty pod — the older generation. On the G3, G4, and G5 families, the coil is sealed inside the cartridge, and there is no separate coil to buy at all.
VAPORESSO GTi serves tanks — the VAPORESSO Armour Max Kit among them; GTX serves pod mods; GTL is a third platform again. VAPORESSO states plainly that GTi and GTX do not interchange.
SMOK runs the widest spread: Nord, RPM, RPM 2 and RPM 3 are four different coils, none of which seats in another family’s pod, plus the TFV18 Mini for the tank of that name. RPM 3 is what the SMOK Nord 5 Kit pod takes.
Resistance, wattage and what actually decides coil life
Resistance sets the draw before it sets anything else. Above roughly 1.0Ω you are in mouth-to-lung territory: a tight draw, a 50/50 liquid, a low wattage. Below about 0.6Ω the draw opens out, the device wants more power, and a 70/30 freebase is the liquid it was built around.
Run a coil inside the band printed on it, and it is being asked to do the job it was designed for. Run it above, and it is not. Sweet and heavily sweetened liquids leave more residue on the mesh than plain fruits or menthols do, which is why the same coil behaves differently on two bottles.
Wherever a manufacturer publishes a wattage band, that band is what you will see quoted. Where none is published — which is common, and universal on some SMOK parts — the absence is recorded rather than filled with a figure nobody stands behind.
What is not a coil
Several devices in this catalogue have no replaceable coil. The UWELL Caliburn G4 Pod Kit, G4 Pro, G5 Koko and G5 Lite SE all take a GPP cartridge with the coil sealed in. The SMOK Novo 5 is the same idea: there is no such thing as a Novo 5 coil. If you own one of those, the part you want is on Replacement Pods, not here.
This catches people out often enough that it is worth stating twice. Searching for a “Caliburn G4 coil” returns results because other people search for it too, not because the product exists.
Product and variant overview
Ten coil families: VOOPOO PnP (original), PnP X and TPP; UWELL Caliburn G2; VAPORESSO GTi; SMOK Nord, RPM, RPM 2, RPM 3 and TFV18 Mini. Between them, they carry 56 selectable resistances.
Compatibility and related products
Every coil family page lists the devices it fits and, where the confusion is live, the devices it does not.
If your mod runs on external cells, the discharge rating matters more than the coil — see Batteries.
For the liquid to run through it: higher-resistance coils are generally paired with a 50/50 nicotine salt, and sub-ohm mesh coils with a 70/30 freebase. Follow the range printed on the part.
Buying guidance
Identify the platform before the resistance. The marking on the old coil tells you immediately; the device model often does not, because several devices changed platform between generations.
Buy the resistance you are replacing unless you are deliberately changing the draw. Dropping resistance opens the draw and raises the power the device asks for, which changes how the same bottle tastes and how much of it you get through.
Order coils with the liquid rather than after it. A sweet bottle and no spare coil is the commonest reason a good e-liquid gets blamed for tasting burnt.
If you are unsure, send a photo of the part rather than the device. The part carries the marking that settles it.
Kenya and Nairobi relevance
Coil orders placed in Nairobi go out same-day, and everywhere else in Kenya is served by courier. Coils are the one thing worth ordering before you need them, because a device without a working coil is not a device.
